Canada Day has evolved for us over the years. When we first moved to BC we would usually house sit for friends over the Canada Day long weekend. They had a community pool so we would usually spend the day hangin' at the pool relaxing, mostly oblivious to the day. Well, now that we have kids we are always looking for a fun activity to distract and excite so we donned our red and white and headed to the city parade. It was a great way to spend the morning. The kids thoroughly enjoy the show even though it was two hours long!
Jayda was thrilled because a cotton candy vendor passed by and we just couldn't resist buying a bag of the melt in your mouth sugary goodness.
The little flags were a huge hit. They didn't get put down for hours.
Every time a float with music would pass by Malachi thought he needed to make sure he was waving to the beat. At one point I had his flag but as soon as he heard the music he grabbed it from me thinking that he couldn't let the singers go by without moving to their beats.
Sitting on a squat curb at 39 weeks pregnant isn't exactly easy (or comfortable!) but it was fun joining the kids and taking in the excitement with them. My lap was Malachi's seat for most of the parade.

1 Notes of love:
Looks like so much fun, flags, outfits, and all...
